Oasis Day!

Of course it was only right to kick off this mega journey with a bang.
After a 3am wake up call, a quick breakfast roll, and a one-hour flight to Sydney, we were (mostly) awake and ready to take our place at the Oasis Live ’25 tour. Had you asked us at 3am, when our alarm clock erupted with all the enthusiasm of a fire drill, whether this was worth the hassle, I would’ve had some choice words. But now, on reflection, I’m so glad we forced ourselves out of bed for what ended up being an incredible experience.

This isn’t our first trip to Sydney, and both times we’ve found the city surprisingly lacking in personality. Maybe we’re just not looking in the right places (seriously, recommendations welcome). To give Sydney its due, the public transport is excellent and the city is impressively clean, as far as cities go. It just lacks pizzazz in any way that actually matters to us.
That being said, tonight was different. The city was alive, buzzing with Oasis fans pouring in from all corners of the world. Everywhere we looked were Adidas collabs, bucket hats, and that unmistakable “fuck you” Mancunian attitude, hilariously contrasting the laid-back, pleasant vibe that Aussie’s are normally known for.
And the concert? Phenomenal. (Though nothing will ever compare to Coldplay - sorry not sorry.) The Gallaghers swaggered onto the stage in true Oasis fashion: all cheek, confidence, and absolutely zero interest in their fans. The crowd erupted into one giant, slightly off-key choir, united by the primal urge to belt Don’t Look Back In Anger like our lives depended on it.
By the end of the night, we were equal parts exhilarated and exhausted - which honestly feels like the correct way to depart from an Oasis show.
And yes, Jack will be singing the entire setlist for the next six months. I’ve accepted my fate.
