And they're off...

Well, the time has finally come to say “see you later” to our friends and family in Jersey and set off on the adventure we’ve spent the last seven years talking about.

The journey started off swimmingly with a surprise upgrade for our Jersey-to-London leg (shoutout Kelly - you absolute legend). For our inaugural visit to the Number One Lounge at Jersey Airport, we were greeted with understated elegance that sharply contrasted our joggers-and-hoodie travel aesthetic, and the delightful smell of Brie and bacon croissants (yum).

Unfortunately, our glamorous beginnings were short-lived. Just three bites into our breakfast of champions, we were ushered along to our gate to begin the long and gruelling journey ahead.

After landing in London, our luck seemed to run out as quickly as it arrived. We were downgraded for our London-to-Doha flight (cheers, Qatar), and had to fight diligently to keep the seats we’d actually paid for on our Doha-to-Brisbane leg (to no prevail)

But after 26 hours, one lost bag, a few tears, and roughly three hours of sleep, we finally made it to Australia. 🇦🇺

A week in and it still doesn’t feel real. We’re somewhere between excitement, sadness, and disbelief - emotions only made stronger by a heavy dose of jet lag. Honestly, I don’t think either of us fully knows what we’re feeling right now.

For now, all we can do is sit back, and watch life unfold in front of us.
